ROSA Parks Charter High School is authorized by the Minnesota Guild of Public Charter Schools. ROSA Parks works directly with Executive Director Jim Zacchini. The Minnesota Guild of Public Charter Schools (hereinafter, the Guild) is a single-purpose authorizer of charter schools in the State of Minnesota. It was conceived as a project of the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, Local 59, AFT, AFL-CIO to authorize charter schools that are dedicated to Albert Shanker’s vision of charter schools as laboratories of innovation in which legally empowered educators can unleash creativity that will result in fresh, new ideas intended to revitalize all public schools.
Beyond its role on the Finance Committee, the Guild fulfills its fiduciary responsibility by participating in an annual audit with the accounting firm of Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP, and by reviewing the school’s financial statements monthly. The school’s authorizer provides programmatic oversight through summaries to the College Administrative Cabinet, department summaries, curriculum reviews, and instructional support.
